Great Pyrenees

These dogs are not the biggest in the world, but they’re quite large – hence why we’re starting our countdown with them.

Often used as livestock guardian dogs, Great Pyrenees often reach weights of up to 130 pounds. Though while they may be protective of their family or flock, they’re generally gentle giants – especially around children.

They are not to be confused with the even larger Pyrenean Mastiff – which can weigh over 220 pounds.
